by David V. on I actually had a good time! I'm from Houston and often go up to Austin to visit friends and get away for a while. I had just left another bar and decided we should all get just a little more booze before heading home. The door guy was actually really nice. We had small talk as everyone was going inside. Once inside it was dark, very dark. The music was decent. Not that I'm a fan of electronic, but this wasn't too bad. The drinks were cheap, on the count that I usually order a Lonestar and a Jamey. We spent the rest of the night talking out on the patio and had a great time with each others company. There was no altercation on anyones behalf and that made for a great night. I will be back.
by Linwood Hamersly on IT WAS SO FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ... when it wasn't as crowded. we got there super early because we wanted those free CDs, and there weren't that many people there. it was so fun dancing because there was ROOM to dance and i could BREATHE. however when Party Ben came out, MY OH MY did the place change! people were pushing and shoving, i couldn't move or BREATHE because of the humidity in the air, and it was raining SWEAT. literally. beads of sweat were sprinkling in the air, and instead of people leaving their cups aT THE BAR, they literally THREW IT IN THE AIR! so the backwash, spit, and remaining warm alcohol splashed on us, and we came out of the club smelling like a bar restroom. the band Smashup Derby was pretty cool and very dynamic, though! and the absinthe bar was very NEW! the drinks were SUPER STRONG, which was great because i got a BANG for my BUCK! :] however, because it was so crowded downstairs, we took refuge upstairs at Electro-bootie, which was still CROWDED, but people respected your personal space. OVERALL, shady area, TOO crowded, dirty restrooms, okay music, cheap and strong drinks!
by Dianna R. on NOT recommended for people that don't like electronic music!!! Also, be prepared to see a lot of people on drugs... and old asians doing what me and my friends call the "washing machine dance." And when I say old... I mean old. I think I actually saw my grandma there once... HAHA JK! But yea... so if you love the dj and don't mind being around druggies it can be a pretty cool place to go. There are definitely a lot of regulars that come EVERY week. Also, if you wanna park, I highly recommend valet. I know this sounds weird but valet is usually only $10 while the surrounding lots can cost around $25... isnt' that ironic??
