by Rachel S. on For birthdays, bachelorettes...whatever, this is a great place to go. I wouldn't plan to come here every weekend but for one night, sure! First I would recommend pre-gaming elsewhere- get your drink on before you get here because the drinks are expensive. $10 for a shot. The people who work here are nice enough, I spent a few minutes talking to the bouncer who stands in front of the Fun House and I was talking to the dude who is the Event Manager in Training (I think that was his title) and they were both friendly. The crowd is totally frat boy. But, if you are there to be with your friends and you don't care who else is there, I don't see why you wouldn't have a good time. $10 for girls and $15 for guys to get in and they give you some tickets to play one of the games. I did win a stuffed dog at the darts game. After a few drinks, it's tricky to read the signs next to the booth that tell you the object of the game. The place was packed but it seemed to come in waves throughout the night-- however, it was never so packed that you couldn't move around or dance. The Fun House was great to dance for a bit-- I'm not sure if this is actually a VIP area because even though there was a bouncer standing there, I walked in and out the whole night without a problem. Definitely worth going once! Try not to be uptight when you go. It's supposed to be silly and a little weird. It's a carnival inside a building in NYC. What did you expect? p.s. The website says that there's a strict dress code, but I thought it was confusing. No open toed shoes for women? wha? Basically I would say nice jeans and shoes for the guys-- or if you have some fancy non-athletic sneakers you'll be fine. Girls, I think you still can do whatever you want as long as you look good and not like you just rolled out of bed. I was wearing jeans and a pair of converse and had no problems getting in.
by Willa Kuehn on Yes, walk towards the store with the mannequins. You're going the right way. Get on the elevator. What floor? The THIRD FLOOR. My friend was telling me these directions as I was trying to look for the place. I liked that it was dim and had comfy couches. They serve different types of drinks but cocktails are my fave, especially the Pear Martini. I wouldn't recommend eating here, especially the seafood fried rice dish thing we had. Horrible.
