by Megan L. on I came here for a work event a while back. Clubs aren't really my scene, but I was here with a bunch of coworkers, so fine. Drinks were fine, though I actually had to argue with one of the bartenders about what kind of beer they had - she kept insisting that they didn't have it (I don't recall specifically what kind any more, sorry). I had to finally say, this bottle I have in my hand? Right here? I got it from THAT bartender, the one you're standing next to. From that cooler behind you. I promise, if you open it, you'll find them. So that was annoying. Somewhat later in the evening, the club was invaded by some additional... staff? I'm not sure, they could also have been strippers. I decided to take off when the (bad) pole dancing started. I'm not from San Francisco, but it doesn't take a genius to figure out that this neighborhood is sketchtastic. Ick!
by Drew Torgeson on I've been here several times and I love the way the place looks. It's warm, stylish, ethnic and modern all at once. Upstairs is really nice as well and they serve some interesting looking (although watered down) cocktails. That's pretty much all the nice things I have to say about Earth. We dropped by one evening after dinner at a nearby Chelsea restaurant and my friend was wearing sneakers, so they wouldn't let him in. That part I understand. But hey, at least you can be polite about it. The bouncer was pretty sweet actually and let us in after we "took care" of him, but the manager guy standing beside him was just so RUDE! What's with the attitude man? They were playing Indian music which was catchy at first but it quickly degenerated as the "DJ" kept leaving his stand and remained away for outstretched periods of time. All in all, if you haven't been to Earth, you haven't missed much. Just google some still pictures of the decor and you're good to go.
by Sasha C. on By the time I got here this last Friday night, I was already pretty drunk, so my 4 stars are for the GREAT hiphop music they played nonstop, with a great DJ who mixed really well, and the lack of a 5th star is for the tripped-out random guy who kept talking to me and my friend and ruining our girl's nite vibe. Oh, and for the fact that it is sort of small, so that I kept stepping on someone's foot or being hit in the rear by some girl's hand swinging to the beat of "Sexy Can I". Am definitely going back, just to get my dance on.
