This place used to be classy. It is now disgusting and trashy. The staff is rude and belligerent. The crowd is mainly white trash and project folks. I went there the other week and was talking to a woman who after she said good bye heads out for the night. She leaves her cell phone on the couch so I rush to pick it up and give it back to her before she leaves. That's when a bouncer jumps up in my face with his fists out cursing at me accusing me of trying to steal her cell phone. I explained to him that I was just trying to return her the phone before she left. I tell him she is on her way out, just let me give it to her real quick before she's gone. He tells me he is going to "fuck me up" for stealing cell phones. I give up on this ignorant waste of karmic debt and give him the cell phone and ask to speak to the manager. He brings me to the manager and is fuming in front of him wailing his arms saying he is going to hurt me. I explain to the manager the situation. He looks like he is understanding me, then the waste of space yells out, "I caught him stealing a cell phone". Then the manager asks me what are you doing stealing cell phones. I look at him bewildered, and think am I really in the twilight zone right now? Another bouncer escorts me out, waste of space still telling me he will "fuck me up". I get out of there and never return. This place is not worth your time or money.

I had to update my review because Trigger has taken a turn for the worse. The Castro has more than enough "dive" and "casual" bars. What the neighborhood has long needed is a gay night spot that's worth getting dressed up for. I was hoping that Trigger is that kind of spot. For the first two weeks, it was. Now, not so much. Actually, not at all. Trigger is fast becoming yet another overcrowded bar full of loud messy drunks and old, tired music. We already have 2 of those bars in the Castro (or 4, depending on the night), we didn't need another.

Depending on the reasons that you went to Minx, this place is either slightly above or below average. The best part of the Minx experience would be the decor. Very nicely remodeled and the outside patio is great for groups. As for the food, its decent at barely acceptable prices. The drinks, however are absolutely overpriced. Service wasn't spectacular nor was it horrible. For a date, this place is so-so, for a dinner and a night out with friends its slightly above average and to go only for dancing you'd find this place to be less than average.( not the worth the $20 cover) Your experience will probably relative to the distance you drove as well. I live nearby ( Pasadena ) but I probably would have been much more disappointed if I drove a long distance to go to Minx.
