I'm gonna be as honest and as straightforward as possible. I've seen more upscale venues around hollywood and if you're looking for that, this place might not exactly be for you. The outside isn't exactly appealing either. However, it's decent for the majority of us, and once we walked in, it was better than we anticipated. Indoor: It features 2 sets of dance floors, which on good nights, are both open and they have 2 sets of DJ's. There are tables/couches and they're comfortable. Service is good- they take away the empty glasses relatively quick, and the bartenders are friendly. There are 2 bars. Outdoor: area for you to smoke, and there are tables, seats, and couches for you. The reason I gave this place 5 stars is that given its location, it's hard to be appealing on the outside since it's at a parking lot. However, the inside astonished my girls and me, and we had a great time there with no problems whatsoever. So I recommend people to come to this place because it's actually a pretty cool place.

Another restaurant week came and went, and Tao was one of the lunch stops. When the restaurant first opened, there were rave reviews, it was nearly impossible to get a reservation, so I gave up. When browsing through the options for restaurant week though, I stumbled upon Tao and figured it was the perfect time to finally go and see what the hype was all about (over a year later mind you). The decor, SICK. Giant Buddha dead center was awesome and really made you understand just how large of a space they have for the restaurant in general. Wait staff was quick, nice and on point the entire time which is always a plus. I can't necessarily recall everything the three of us ordered, but it was all very much like much of the cuisine, good, but nothing spectacular. I can honestly say I would go there much more for the appearance than the food, though as far as Asian cuisines go, it was pretty good. I wouldn't make reservations for a special occasion or anything like that but it's still a great choice for anyone who loves Asian cuisine.

It's not for everyone. But everyone should go once. The Clermont Lounge is attached to the side of the rooms-by-the-hour Clermont Hotel on Ponce. There are strippers, yes, and some of them are older and not what you would call conventionally attractive, yes. But to me those facts get cited too often and miss the point. The Clermont is where I go to enjoy whatever's going on that night (usually Tuesday karaoke!), feel the smoke burning my eyes, and crown myself gritty and worldly for a night. And revel in the fact that there happen to be naked women in the room, and I honestly don't care.
