This place used to be classy. It is now disgusting and trashy. The staff is rude and belligerent. The crowd is mainly white trash and project folks. I went there the other week and was talking to a woman who after she said good bye heads out for the night. She leaves her cell phone on the couch so I rush to pick it up and give it back to her before she leaves. That's when a bouncer jumps up in my face with his fists out cursing at me accusing me of trying to steal her cell phone. I explained to him that I was just trying to return her the phone before she left. I tell him she is on her way out, just let me give it to her real quick before she's gone. He tells me he is going to "fuck me up" for stealing cell phones. I give up on this ignorant waste of karmic debt and give him the cell phone and ask to speak to the manager. He brings me to the manager and is fuming in front of him wailing his arms saying he is going to hurt me. I explain to the manager the situation. He looks like he is understanding me, then the waste of space yells out, "I caught him stealing a cell phone". Then the manager asks me what are you doing stealing cell phones. I look at him bewildered, and think am I really in the twilight zone right now? Another bouncer escorts me out, waste of space still telling me he will "fuck me up". I get out of there and never return. This place is not worth your time or money.

I really liked Door 44. Prior to going there I had read multiple reviews on the place. Though some of them may have discouraged me from going, the fact of the matter was my friend was picking me up and we were heading there. She has a thing for the bartender so that was that. The door women were dressed in scantily clad, sexy clothing, with fishnets and pushup bras. Hot. Also, it was free to get in. I like free that is for sure. The inside looked like an abode for vampires with gothic-like colors of black and red. The bar itself was most impressive with the top covered in bright red roses, with glass covering over it. Furthermore, and equally stimulating, was the stripper pole. I have always wanted to try to work it on the pole, and though I would never be a stripper, it looked like fun. Unfortunately for me at the present moment, I have two stitches in my thumb nail bed and was not able to bust out my moves. I will next time though. In regards to the crowd, I did not see any people who resembled frat boy types at all. To tell you the truth, we looked the most sorority-like in there (I dropped out of my sorority my Junior year of college). But we are cool so it is all good. Also, the music was some of the best mix I have ever heard, ranging from rad 90's music to Notorious BIG. I think you would concur. So, in my opinion, which I believe should be trusted whole-heartedly (naturally), you should go to Door 44. If nothing less, go check it out for the decor, and then hop on over to Vickery's, Opera (if you are in the club scene), or Center Stage for live music. After all, it is located at 44 12th St. right by TONS of places to go, for all different personalities. Last recommendation, park in the parking deck located across from the old Bank of America. It is to the left after Front Page News and Vickery's and is free and there is security. Have a blast! You'll love it!

- Tasty fries - Awesome happy hour...$7 pitchers, can it get any better than that? $3-4 mixed drinks... yeah the BEST. - Nice decor, totally not sketchy or grimey
