If you have taste buds, do NOT go to Tao. If you want ambiance, atmosphere and a trendy "experience", Tao may be the place for you. First of all, you walk in and you see a huge Buddha statue. Big deal. I could care less. However, some people eat this stuff up, and they better, because the food is so poor. This honestly tasted to me like standard fare Chinese food. It was literally no better than any crappy Chinese place I have ever eaten at, and for the price tag, I really expected so much more. The food was unimaginative, and really lacked flavor. Sauces were used in excess, just a sloppy experience overall. For dessert we got the huge fortune cookie. I honestly have no idea why anyone raves about this dessert. It's literally just a big fortune cookie with cream inside. Do you love fortune cookies enough to spend $12 on one? I personally love $12 more, but this is what Tao is all about. Go to a less expensive, better restaurant? Or go to Tao for the glitz and glam and nothing to back it up with? Your choice.

Pretty good, but it felt as if the place lacked a pay off somehow. The dancers were nice to look at...Very nice. No surprise for WeHo. The look and feel of the place was high-quality, and yet I still found myself craving more. More adventurous deejays? Another room or dance floor perhaps? Maybe The Abbey has us all spoiled, expecting that every nightclub be the size of a small country. I'm not sure what it was, but once I find out, I'll update the review ASAP! For now, I leave you with this piece of advice, Micky's. If I bring a flask, don't send your security guards to hound me. Lower the prices or train your bartenders to let the liquor flow more freely!

The view is magnificent. This is perfect place to go if you want to relax after a long day of work and sit back with a cocktail. Upon entering the Starlight Room I was greeted by a friendly staff. I sat at the bar to order drinks and the bartenders Jay and Kenny took care of me. I told them I wanted something sweet and they came up with a special concoction that didn't even have a name. The drink they made me contained a lot of alcohol but I couldn't taste it because it was masked by fruit flavors (orange/passion fruit/pineapple). But I highly recommend the orange flavored mojito, the Cable Car, and the Lemon Drop. The bartenders are really creative with mixing different drinks to suit your needs. The drinks are a little bit more expensive but well worth it. On Wednesday nights they have a promoter (Indulgence) that draws in a younger crowd (20's and 30's). It gets packed on Wednesday nights because the DJ's spin some wild mixes. On the other nights, they have a live band that plays jazz. But overall, it's a great view and a good drink. What more can you ask for? The dcor is nice with a chandelier at the entrance near the bar area. Everything is covered in scarlet red (Harry Denton's favorite color). I prefer reserving a booth as it is more comfortable. But the side seating by the windows are also good if you want a view and to be away from the crowd. I recommend ordering the crab cakes for appetizer - it's the best thing on the menu.
