by Mike V. on Disappointing rooftop. But then again, living anywhere in the Northeast or SoCal gets you roof-top "spoiled". The view was great and they do an excellent job keeping you warm with the tent and heat lamps, but the service was a disaster. Hopefully Medjool adds some more wait-staff in the near future! As for the downstairs bar, I've had a drink there a few times waiting for friends nearby and the bartenders are young but very old-school (excellent conversation without being chatty and great service).
by Carmine Bailer on We went there because of all the hype and although some of the dishes were good, the overall meal was not impressive. That being said, the hummus was excellent and so were the fried cheese. The fried cauliflower was above average but not sure if it deserves all the acclaim. The rest of the meal was OK, but nothing stellar. Portions were rather small, and the waitress we had that evening was not great at explaining all the dishes. At one point we decided to order the Jerusalem's grill, since my brother in law thought that this would include a bit of everything on the meat portion of the menu. It was labeled as some of the :best parts". I ordered this dish and was shocked when it came out and was made up to be of duck testicles, heart and kidneys. A little warning would off been appreciated since none of us had any clue that this was what we ordered. That being said, they took that item off the bill although our waitress laid a little bit of a guilt trip on us. Overall and enjoyable meal but not a place I would go more than once.
by Sam M. on So I went for 1984, which goes down on Thursdays. One star for 1 dollar drinks, one star for no cover before 9:30, one star for Games Without Frontiers by Peter Gabriel. It was totally fun, but those are the only reasons I'd go back.
