I've been to MJQ (aka The Drunken Unicorn..lol) twice and both nights were on a Friday. The DJs played the same kind of music both nights and I LOVED it. It was old school rap..mostly from the 90's. It took me back to the good ole days in the 90s. The place doesn't start getting crowded until late night, after 11:30 I guess is when the dance floor gets packed or people are just sitting or standing off to the side just enjoying the music. There is a lot of good dancing. I definitely smelt weed a few times. Also, the bar is CASH ONLY and I do remember paying a cover (no more than $7 i think). The entrance into MJQ is pretty interesting/funny. I don't think it is marked, but just a garage/hut with double doors. As you enter, you walk down a cement incline into the underground of some atl fun! It stays open late, i know past 2am. The art on the walls is cool..I like the walking upright rabbits. I definitely want to go back - for the music and atmosphere.

Not for Kids (or for me, either) I went to "300 Bowling" on N IH-35 last night for a friend's birthday party. It's the first time I've been there since it's re-opened after remodeling. First the good news. It wasn't very crowded when we got there at 7:30pm on a Tuesday night. There were plenty of staff there and they were friendly and helpful. The place looked clean and sort of upscale. We ordered appetizers from their menu and sat in the table area and chatted until everyone arrived. A server checked on us from time to time. When all were there we took advantage of a party package they had which was bowling for 2 hours (complete with shoe rental) and a pizza with soda for $60. We got a lane immediately and the staff set us up and entered our names. We got off to a great start. Now the bad news (at least to me it was bad) ... Shortly after we started bowling the lights in the entire place dimmed and they began to play 80's rock music videos on big screens over the bowling lanes. If you like this kind of stuff then try out this place, as this is my only complaint. One of our party had brought their two pre-teen kids and all the videos with gyrating hips, scantily-clad bimbos and raunchy lyrics were inappropriate for them. I spoke to the manager about this and he says their website clearly indicates they are a nightclub-themed bowling alley and he claimed that their videos are no worse than you'd see on MTV. So, be forewarned if you're planning a family bowling night. Otherwise, you might even like the vibe.

The service was fair,I once got cold food, and stale bread, the parking is a problem. very noisy in the back bar. Dress code in the summertime, there are better choices.....

I have never not had fun here. Last night was not an expection. The place is always packed, the music, although not hipster, is decent for the crowd, and the crowd is always delicious. Now that the Fuego ladies were gone and had lured Greg V; it was back to Woods and I. We drank more, talked to more women. We went downstairs. I recall this voluptous woman in a terry terquious strapless touching the hem of my garment when we entered. I had bookmarked the incedent under "potential" and proceed to go upstairs with the crew..Sun Tzu says "knowing one's advantage is knowledge" and I knew half the work was finished downstairs. When I got there, the bumping and grinding ensued. Numbers were exchanged and future plans were made. Of course that doesn't always mean much; but it does add up to the fact that Cosmo on a Saturday night is always fun.
