by Matt J. H. on This is where hipsters with doctorates go to drink. That's the image I have in my head whenever Johnny Brenda's is brought up. It's purely based on my interactions with people I see hanging out there. Very Fishtown-cliquey. I could swear they pay more attention to my street address than they do my age when I get carded. This is all in my head. It's a super-popular bar; they're doing something right, and it's a phenomenal place to see live music (if only bands I wanted to see would play there!). Summary: why can't you be more for me, Johnny Brenda's? You seem so awesome, yet you mostly get on my nerves. Stop doing that! P.S. - The fries are really delicious. P.P.S. - They always have hand-pumped cask ale and that's greatastic.

But I did manage to have a good time laughing at the crazy people/ awkward situation of a night at Webster Hall. Whatever it was ladies night and my friends got wasted. It was a weird memorable night.
by Amruta G. on 2nd stop last night and I love, love...loves it! Having just come from a sweaty, hypercrowded place Sugar Cafe was a breathe of fresh air, definetly more laid back..but never boring! Considering having my sister's birthday here..we'll see but I'll be back in any case...
