by Randy S. on The best meal I've had in Atlanta so far. I strolled in for a late lunch and bellied up to the bar. Staff was very courteous and attentive. I settled on the pickled shrimp app and the buttermilk fried chicken. Neither disappointed. The pickled shrimp app was delicious! It came with cucumbers, onions, tomatoes and a tangy vinaigrette and sauce. Delicious! Other reviewers raved about the buttermilk fried chicken and as it was delicious as well. Came with green beans mashed potatoes but I substituted the fried okra for the potatoes at no charge. The beans' preparation was simple; the fried okra was wonderful. They were with whole or cut in half along the length and were quite possibly the best fried okra I have ever had. The chicken was tender moist and had perfectly flaky skin. The bourbon sauce that came with the chicken on the side wasn't that good and I thought it added nothing to the dish. Pretty nicely decorated place, good location. I was surprised by how good the meal was. And will be looking this place up again.
by Vernon Leymeister on Good for a fun view of the cemetery, which is where you're headed after eating this "food". OK, ok, if you want fried fried fried, and are in need of intoxicating beverages of low-to-mediocre quality to mitigate a phenomenal hangover, go here.
