by Robu-san T. on Groovy, hot, and goes 'till late. No dress code is a big bonus because it gets sweaty in there, and you need your dancing shoes. Pricey cover even for nights when there's no big names, but still a solid 4 stars.
by Jerome Moevao on When I travel for work, I like to stay at the Sheraton and Westin hotels, build up my free nights, and stay at the W on vacation. I'm re-thinking this strategy... The W's have become TOO swanky to the point of uncomfortableness (is that a word?!?). This W is no different. Expensive drinks. Expensive food. Expensive parking. Absolutely gorgeous rooms but not completely functional. Try putting on your face in that super low light! Like many other W's there are no doors to the bathroom and only frosted glass doors between the sink and the toilet. I wouldn't recommed this setup if you are with anyone other than your significant other. I'd also recommed getting a room as high up as possible. We stayed a few floors up from the lobby and could make out the songs the DJ was spinning late into the night. If you are staying to party and drink, this place is perfect. For comfort and relaxation, the heavenly beds at the Westin are much better.
by Davy E. on This place is down the street from our apartment, literally. I guess that's the reason why I'm giving it the 3 stars. Aside from that, I'd say you're better off visiting this Mexican joint on a weekday, preferably on a Wednesday night after 8 (Happy starts from 4-7 and begins again at 9) when it's less busy. My teacher buddies and I have branded Wednesdays, "Margarita Wednesdays" for a reason. With little pocket money to spare, this is an inexpensive location to hang out for drinks. My favorite blended margarita is the strawberry-coconut (with toasted flakes on the rim!), even though the amount of alcohol is quite minimal. But hey, for 5 bucks and FREE, unlimited appetizers, it's not bad at all. They usually serve cheese quesadillas, beef flautas or beef nachos at the FREE appetizer bar. It's not the best Mexican food I've had, but really, can you complain much when it's free?? If you go for just the drinks and free appetizers, you're good to go. The only other dish I like are the half-off meat quesadillas for like, 3.75 or so. We're usually so stuffed from the free appetizers that we end up splitting the quesadilla (which comes with sour cream and yummy guac). Things to steer clear of: the deep fried ice cream. I agree with the previous post by Anh, it's chewy and disgusting. Just stick to the FREE appetizers and margaritas if you want the most bang for your buck.
