Not impressed with this place whatsoever. I had heard so much about POD and how unique the place is and that the food is to die for...but really I don't agree. Yes POD, your sushi is fresh and your presentation is outstanding but I feel like your completely over-rated. I can get fresh sushi at many places in the city with out paying the "cool factor charge". Your drinks are interesting but also I am not impressed. I felt like I was back in high school with "rich kids who think they are cool" surrounded me while i was eating there...If i wanted that I would have stayed in the suburbs of NYC..no thank you, you guys have def created a scene here to say the least. Also, I feel like you have the strangest hours, I have found myself wanted to go there many times before but you were never open? I'm obsessed with Asian Fusion may go back just because location. MAYBE ( I have heard that POD does a $25 all you can eat on Tuesday nights)

LA Times Magazine hosted their Oscars Issue party at Provocateur and served it up in style. Once inside, you check your coat and walk through the rabbit warren of walls to the club area in back. The room is set up like a track, you can walk the loop and sit on the raised purple velvet banquettes along the walls or those around the interior. A pair of huge angel wings rest above the bar where cute bartenders tend to your every need. The hot waitresses wear strapless red dresses and served your prototypical party food: sliders, chicken wrapped in cucumber (ok, that one's new), and other amuse bouche. I'm not sure who the DJ was this night, whether he worked for Provocateur or had been placed by the magazine, because he spun old time faves that you would typically hear at a wedding. Fashion-forward, not really, but amusing nonetheless. We thoroughly enjoyed our "Bravo-lebrity" spottings and free, albeit weak, drinks.
