Someone local in the group just made the decision and so off we went. You mean, this bar, right here, that is next to this sketchfest motel? Ok! Flash the license, head in the door... and BAZOOM! Go with a sense of humor and leave your timidness at the door. Drink a lot, have fun, and swear on Jimmy Carter that you will never get old.
by Kelley B. on Did my birthday at Blvd and was not at all disappointed. The venue is AMAZING (see pictures, because a desciption so doesn't do it justice). Great easy-in service. There was a line of course...its hollywood, but all the people I put on the list got in easily. Endless entertainment, spacious area for dancing, great mix of people and music, chill cabanas, fondue bar and nightly themes. Definitely best service of any club I have been to and the most for the money (Social, Green Door, Deux, Apple,Twelve + Highland, etc.)...you totally forget until you get get the bill next month :P But its the usual prices for bottle service/night out, so no surprise here. The girls had an AMAZING time, would definitely recommend it for a night out or birthday...they handle everything. And they were cool with us having a photographer and bringing in cake..very accomodating. Also, if you put your party on the list and are thinking about getting a cabana but aren't stressing about it. The promoter will usually email you 2-3 days before and offer you table for significantly less.
by Michael L. on As one who lived for years in West Philly, I came to know intimately several Ethiopian and Eritrean restaurants. I was more than a regular, I was a personal friend of the owners, who once or twice even fed me by hand. You may think this is gross, but it is, in fact, a high compliment in their culture. Now imagine my surprise when I found Waziema two blocks from my new home in SF. The food is good enough, though not great, and there's a pool table. I doubt I will become as close to the owners as I was to Solomon (may he rest in peace) and Negisti at Dahlak in Philly, but I am definitely going to be a familiar face at Waziema.
