by Kyra M. on Well lets see, I am sorta cheap at times and this place gives you what u pay for. Myself and my gurls came down to hang for New Years. It was only 20.00 to get in advance. So naturally our cheap butts took advantage. First of all it was sorta nested in the hood. Parkin was free and plentiful. The crowd was 20's and not so classy. Come on, it's new years, meaning Jan, put some CLOTHES on! The place was a decent size with entry loung type room, reggae room and main floor. It got packed of course. The ballon drop was nice and so was the champagne. It was an interesting hood experience.
by Cassandra Stockmaster on as with most of these places, it depends on who you're there with. the music ranged from good to decent, so no complaints there. there are also lots of bars available on each floor, so you don't usually have to wait in a freakishly long line for a drink. their underuse of VIP areas, however, gives every room a strange pocket-like feel, with a huge crowd stuck in one corner but wide-open empty areas right next to them. as fun as it is to be, *ahem,* "rollin' VIP," it's usually better to have a closer proximity to the rest of the population. still, cover's a little steep [$20 but somehow we got on the guest list] and elements of the crowd are undeniably ghetto. but i always forget that this is the tenderloin, not pacific heights, and have to adjust accordingly. but otherwise, the crowd isn't bad, full of uncommonly beautiful women of a range of ethnicities, and aside from the ghetto-G's everyone else has the usual banana republic look.
