I love this place!!! Its always a nice temp in the summer too which isnt easy to find. Its face-pased hip-hop music, like mega-mix style which makes it fun. Its not my first choice of music but you cant help but come in here and want to dance. Great place to just come drink and forget about life! I also just doscovered that they have open bar on thursdays from 1030-1130. SCORE!

Everyone I know has ranted and raved about Delux, but I could never really see the real connection. What I found is this: -The location is great. It's near the Biltmore, and not even 50 yards away is the Gelato Spot, which makes for a great dessert. -It's crowded. Yes, it's popular, which means 2/3 times, you're going to have to wait. Sometimes for a substantial amount of time. And I'm not personally the most patient person, so that alone made me believe that Delux isn't the place for me. I like small restaurants with a few people, but that's just me. -It's pricey. Indeed The food is good, but not great, and they overcharge you because they can. They've been voted the best burger in Phoenix, so they have a right to I guess. I don't mind paying a bit more for things, but I didn't think it warranted the price they were offering. -It's loud. The masses of people and blaring music may appeal to some people, but that's not my scene. But overall, I thought Delux was okay. It's expensive, the service is decent, it's crowded, loud, and they serve alright food. But nothing really amazed me.

After a splendid concert (Leonard Cohen at the Fox), we had missed dinner and were looking for an opportunity. I remembered wanting to come here for a long time. The place was loud - a DJ was playing, people were lively - I could see how this could be a good thing, but it wasn't what I wanted after the concert. The host was extremely comforting and the service was gracious. The decor was maybe a little less together than I anticipated, but not like eye-stabby. But who cares about that? Why did I even write it? The food! It was very tasty and quite interesting. The mixed green salad was perhaps the most interesting salad ever: blackberries, pistachios, goat cheese and honey-lavender dressing were surprising, in a good way. It could have gone in easier, more accessible directions, but instead was unexpectedly pleasing. Scallops were great - horseradish celery wasn't overpowering and the shellfish themselves were done just right. The roast chicken was DIVINE. It was done in a way that infused the meat with the just right amount of flavor, the skin was crisp, light and somehow puffy in a wonderful manner. By the time we left, we were so happy we sent the DJ a beer, tipped well and started deciding what we'd try next time. This merged well with reflections on the show immediately before, and how this ended the night on the right note.
