Dear gold alien/man with multiple googly eyes glued all over your torso, Your image is emblazoned into the memory of my straight, male friend. You are awesome. I had an absurdly fun time at Bootie under the influence of little more than Ke$ha mashed up with "California Girls!" I'm not quite sure when we got there (11ish?) but I don't recall much of a line. No live band that night but we were treated to an interesting mutant show as the Chernobyl something or other took over the club! Great music, eclectic crowd - mostly fun with the usual overly aggressive creeps, $3 water bottles and terrible "purple dranks." I know, I know. That's what I get for ordering a "drank" but I love purple! I couldn't resist.

Hot ambience. Mediocre food. Offensive service. I came here on the recommendation of a friend and after reading some great reviews. Top ten in Atlanta? Creative Loafing has it wrong! Our server treated us like we were a nuisance. It seems as though my guest and I were preventing him from stealing sips of wine from his friends seated across the room. We didn't see him from the time that our salad was brought out, to the time that we had to flag him down for the check. The food was no where near what I would expect at that price level. The goat cheese, blueberry, and pistachio salad was good, as was the steak. The hummus app and macaroni was to be expected. However, the pork was bland and dry... the worst that I've ever been served in a restaurant. The spaetzel was absolutely repulsive! It was overcooked and tasted as though it was covered in cheap, creamy salad dressing. If you want to pay good money for a rude waitstaff to bring you bad food in a room with a cool vibe... than this might be a great place for you. If not... there are much better places in this city!

Wow, lots of negative reviews. Somehow, I doubt that these people are actually Electronic Dance Music (EDM) fans. This place is awesome for what it is - a venue to drink, get buzzed, and enjoy some sweet trance or house. Of course, it has hip hop, and other types on other days, but my 5 star review is based on Saturday Nights. I've been here quite a lot, but my favorite trip was two weeks ago to see Gareth Emery and Menno de Jong. Everyone was into the music, going crazy over it, and I met a bunch of people in the front. Everyone talks to each other, tells each other how great the last song was, and how much they are a fan of Gareth, etc. Great crowd. I don't get this at hip hop clubs. Nobody loves a guy who trash talks women, they just like dancing to it. But the passion for the music is missing. Vanguard has it, at least when big names come by. As for the venue itself, it's moderately sized. The line for drinks isn't as long as other places, as people don't have around the bars ,they hang towards the front more to listen and be taken into another world. Also, the drinks are pricey, but they hook you up with the alcohol. Everytime I've gone my drink has been strong. There's some people on E, but this isn't a rave or a glowsticks haven. You'll see maybe one or two max doing that deal. It's an older crowd, so people are past that phase. It's not the "raver" scene. My review is intended for huge fans of EDM, not for a typical club goer looking for a good time. If you are interested or curious about Electronica, try this place on Saturday nights, you won't regret it!
