Hot ambience. Mediocre food. Offensive service. I came here on the recommendation of a friend and after reading some great reviews. Top ten in Atlanta? Creative Loafing has it wrong! Our server treated us like we were a nuisance. It seems as though my guest and I were preventing him from stealing sips of wine from his friends seated across the room. We didn't see him from the time that our salad was brought out, to the time that we had to flag him down for the check. The food was no where near what I would expect at that price level. The goat cheese, blueberry, and pistachio salad was good, as was the steak. The hummus app and macaroni was to be expected. However, the pork was bland and dry... the worst that I've ever been served in a restaurant. The spaetzel was absolutely repulsive! It was overcooked and tasted as though it was covered in cheap, creamy salad dressing. If you want to pay good money for a rude waitstaff to bring you bad food in a room with a cool vibe... than this might be a great place for you. If not... there are much better places in this city!

Nick's Crispy Taco Tuesdays are definitely worth the $2 dollars and the wait. I had the vegetarian ones (Guac, pinto beans, onions, cabbage, corn, salsa - maybe more) and they were great - possibly better then homemade!!! Also the $3 dollar beer specials make them that much better. I had 2 tacos, and 2 beers and was satisfied! only downfall - its crowded and seating is difficult to find, but that's expected so either arrive early or be willing to eat standing :)

Lets be honest guys, this place is not a 5-star venue. (and the quality of a band's performance should not reflect on the service and quality of the venue, since neither depend on each other) The booze is overpriced, and I'd suggest eating before you get to the show, since the food is as well. You can buy an overpriced balcony ticket with reserved meal seating, but I find it hard to find a value in it. The other caveat involved, is if you're seeing a band that's not loud, and could potentially have some quiet moments, the buzzing from the cash register (which for some reason sounds like it was made in the 70's and is very very loud) will be printing out reciepts all during the performance. The floor is huge and spacious. There are (usually, depending on the show and the setup) seats available on the floor for the people who are either too lazy or old to stand for 3-4hrs, but the view from them isn't the best. There's a balcony, but the left half is reserved for overpriced dinner tickets, the back part is absolutely awful to sit in (it's so far back and high that I can't see why someone would willingly sit there) and the right balcony can only hold a couple dozen people at the most. I've been to better venues, but I guess i've been to worse. The acoustics however, are pretty good, when the band is loud. Maybe it's just that the louder the show, the less you notice any lack of quality, but the loud shows i've seen have been great. The not-as-loud shows... not so much. (mostly because of the overly annoying cash register and loud bar conversation, but perhaps some people pay $15 to sit at a bar and drink to a live band, rather than just go to a normal bar, while I go to see and hear the band, but that's another rant isn't it?). I'll probably still be going there 10-20 times a year for various shows, but I'm secretly wishing the bands were playing somewhere else.
