by Jessica W. on So.... I came to Atlanta for a sales meeting and was SHOCKED when my company told me that we'd be going bowling for our "event"... really? I came to Atlanta to go bowling? Well boy was I surprised! It was a pretty good long chartered bus ride from where we were staying in Atlanta, and there was a zebra lose on the freeway (yeah, not a joke)... so it took a little while to get there and it got dark so I really couldn't even really tell you where it was. Seemed like it was downtown. Okay, so I have to say I haven't experienced what this place is really like on a normal night, because my company rented it out for a private party AND we had an open bar and dinner. We unloaded our buses and were greeted at the door by a large black man with a mo-hawk and trench coat; very interesting I thought for a bowling alley. We walked up a tall flight of carpeted stairs where were entered almost a loft type setting. We had the whole place to ourselves and the bar was stocked and the food was on display. The food was sooooo good! They had polenta and queso and all kinds of DELICIOUS food. Couldn't tell you what it must have cost. After we ate we all went to exchange our shoes for bowling shoes and could choose from any of the alleys to play at. We had a TON of fun! This place is great for events. Cool vibe and great fun!
by Rita Aucoin on Not bad, not bad... but then again... not TOO special and definately not worth turning down people who were about to throw a few grands on bottles there. Me and my friend got there after 10 minutes waiting and i think the reason being it was only two of us and we pretended to be with some guys who were "allowed" in... but i felt bad for people who were standing there for HOURS?? If we had to wait longer than 10-15 minutes we wouldnt bother. Anyways, the place itself is pretty cool inside. I liked the patio a lot. The crowd was kind of weird. I was expecting a very glam, rich and famous kind of crowd since it seemed like such an exclusive place. But all i saw was whole bunch of drugged out punks and girls dressed as Cyndi Lauper. And as always, they kick you out at 1.40am. Playhouse was WAY better!
by Edward I. on Damn, I can't believe this place is still around. I do remember that it has a theater setting, where there's a balcony which was a dance floor too but the chairs removed and the inner/upper dance floor was probably where the projectors used to be, architecture was great because it made you think you were in a weird Mayan maze. I used to smoke when I last came here and had to take the side stairway to hang out with the other smokers and chat about how life sucked and how we'll all go to hell and how smokers were a dying breed, then go back in to dance and get drunk. KL is right, some guys are there to stir up trouble but I haven't had a problem, probably because I look like a peaceful guy ;)
