by Jen K. on I came here last night for Drink for a Cause. From 6-10 a $5 suggested donation gets you in and for 4 hours 100% of proceeds went to the House of Hope Hospital in Sudan. So I can drink, have a good time and see some serious eye candy all for a good cause? Sold! The decor was cool and more seating that other clubs (in my opinion that is). The DJ was great and the bartenders were friendly. Did I mention the eye candy? ;) So many hot guys there. Drinks are on the pricey side, but its expected considering where it's located. DFAC is certainly going to become part of my monthly routine.
by Rodrick Surles on I was a major club kid in the 1990s, and basically had my own stool reserved at The Top on lower haight (now called Underground SF for reasons that will never be adequately explained to me). That place was magic--great music, awesome vibe, and a perennially jumpin' dancefloor. I mourned its passing like the death of an old friend. Over the past five-odd years, I have basically gotten old and lazy and quit going out. However, last weekend I was dragged kicking and screaming to Shine for the Dirtybird monthly...and MAN, was it awesome! It's basically The Top reborn--packed dancefloor, awesome beats, fun crowd. Only reason it's not getting five stars is because the otherwise very cute and friendly lady at the door was kind of rude about informing me that there was no coat check whatsoever.
