*********** Review 293 ************* What not to love about this place really? Beautiful ambiance, high ceiling, airy, spacious, romantic & swanky. The food is Asian Fusion, definitely not authentic, but very consistent in taste & flavor, great for snack at the lounge before dinner. It's been 1 of the most consistent happening spots in Manhattan for quite sometimes now. What I love most about this place is their cocktails list, amazing; try these: - Tao Tini - loving it! - Ruby Dragon - My best friend must have fell in love with this drink by bartender RN! - Peach Cosmopolitan absolut peach, pallini peachello, triple sec, cranberry and fresh lime juice. - Jade Blossom absolut pears, midori with fresh pineapple and sparkling sake. - Love Potion #9 bacardi razz, cranberry juice and tao lifeforce energy potion - I think I might have left my heart in NY after this "Love Potion" drink haha! And did I mention they have some of the hottest bartenders in town? Check in with Alex & RN for some martinis, you will be in for a treat! As Tao quote: "Live Long... Be Happy... Follow Your Own Path." on the bottom of the receipt! Got to love it!

I would rate the downstairs bakery and coffee shop 4 stars, but the restaurant only 3. This comes solely from my New Years morning brunch that I had there. Simply put, the ambiance is great, but the food was over-the-top mediocre and with no effort in presentation. If the price was halved for what I had, I probably would have given an overall of 4. But it wasn't, so I didn't. Parish, please please work as hard on your dishes as you do on your decor. If you do, then this place will become a hit!

Eh. I had a good time here but I really enjoyed the Eleven50 of my youth a lot more. Maybe I'm just getting old? First off--the "new" club is beautiful! Major improvements everywhere you look. The owners obviously put a lot of thought, time and money into making the venue look a little less edgy, a lot more elegant. They greatly increased the size of the VIP area by building it out over the dance floor and they also opened VIP to the action below with a large glass enclosed balcony. Note: if you're on the ground floor and female Very Important Posers are standing near the balcony's edge (and happen to be wearing something short), you get a full view of their panties! The dance floor (the past site of all the action) now seems significantly smaller. Closed in by new bars on each side and with the VIP area encroaching overhead, it just doesn't feel as open and wild as it once did. Oh the memories.... The night I went a few talented break dancers owned the dance floor until some hillbillies came along and ruined the fun by being completely disrespectful and dancing like total jerks. Never saw anything like this go down at Eleven50... The bathrooms are untouched, still cramped and icky. The patio was closed. I loved Eleven50's patio and was so looking forward to spending some time in the new outdoor area! Bummer. Overall, I still give Opera 3.5 stars b/c I got the hookup and from what I've seen, it's still one of the best clubs in this sad city of sucky nightlife....
