by Jon R. on A bit of Vegas in la. The girl to guy ratio was unbelievable! Hotties everywhere I turned. Great music and atmosphere. Kinda reminded me of a little mini version Tao beach but on the roof of a hotel. Definitely worth making a trip to if u can't make it to Vegas. Drinks were like $12 each at the bar. Getting a cabana by the pool is definitely the way to go. Well worth it. The only thing that sucks is the rediculous line to get in, but you can get a bottle or cabana to bypass that.
by Sona Grandmont on I used to be a regular here for ladies nights. It was a great place to get in for free, get trashed and dance to 5 different kinds of music. Its expensive and not really worth it these days. The coat check takes FOREVER at the end of the night. Form your own opinion though. Different folks, different strokes.
by fran d. on fran: have low self esteem. will party in hollywood. i find it interesting that whenever i am having a bad week, i find myself capping said week with my dancing shoes in hollywood. there must be a correlation involving lack of judgment and said area. luckily, i am blessed to have the friends i have because if it weren't for them, i would not, i REPEAT, would not find myself partying it up at a club in hollywood. the lame ass traffic? the expensive parking fees? the ludicrous cover charge? the posers and harpies? uhm, hello? with that said, there i was in hollywood on a saturday night with the lovely miss runt t and her friend whose name i can't remember (hello? runty?) who suggested king king and so off we went looking like hot and sexy bitches ready to bring sexy back. king king has its own parking structure in the back and at 10 buckaroos is by far one of the least expensive charges in the area. unfortunately, you do have to get there early to get in on the sweet parking action. we're talking 10-10:30pm. otherwise you'll find yourself having to park elsewhere. the cover charge is your typical 10 dollar cover charge. once inside you walk down a corridor and exit to a bright red colored room with a ceiling approximately two stories high. nice. high ceilings=excellent ventilation folks. the bar section is pretty big however seating elsewhere is at a premium. the room is obviously made to dance and the DJ's do not disappoint. i've long given up on techno but this place reminded me why i used to like it in the first place. a combination of deep tech with dashes of world groove ruled the airwaves with sonic peaks and valleys that swayed the crowd back and forth all night long. runt, her friend and i found ourselves dancing for about three of the four hours we were there. damn, any girl that can dance for as long as i can is worthy of a purple dance heart. drinks are strong and the bartenders despite the crowds are rather prompt in their service. the bathrooms are "heh" clean but do pass muster. you get "ins" and "outs" for those pulling an all nighter and need a breather. the crowd is diverse and very dance oriented as opposed to other clubs that are more hook up oriented. they're pretty good about drawing good DJs to spin and when said DJ's are spinning, watch out. good times follow.
