Love this place :) Went there for my Bday recently, kind of small and different from what most people remember it to be, but I can't complain, fun was had by all that went!

There seems to be a recurring theme going on at Rassella's - good food, horrible service - and I can't disagree one iota. Went for jazz and dinner on a Saturday, making a reservation for 8:30. Walked in and was gruffly told by the manager/owner that they didn't take reservations. Say what? They have it advertised on their web site, and when you call, the answering machine says to leave a message for a dinner reservation. And to boot - there were 5 tables with reserved signs. Given that we didn't have the owner's "special" reservation, we had the option of two tables - both by the door (where my date and I wore our coats for the rest of the night). We then were ignored by the only waitress in the restaurant and the owner for another 20 minutes. The owner spotted us grabbing our own menus (from a table where other diners walked out), and he came over and told us that we had to wait until another waitress came in to be served. Thankfully, the second waitress appeared 10 minutes later and promptly took our order. The food arrived pretty quick and it was one of the better veggie combo Ethiopian plates I've had. However, I like spicy food. If you don't like spicy, you're not in for a treat, and I suggest a table closer to the bathroom. Given the horrible service and unwarranted rudeness by the owner/manager, we probably would've left 15 minutes into waiting for a menu. Thankfully there was a high school dance going on in the back space, and with a prime seat by the door, we partook in a drinking game. For every girl with a dress short enough to see her uterus, we drank. We were pretty buzzed by the time our waitress finally showed up, which made the wait and food all the better.
