by Betty C. on This is the place where I love to be. It's everything I could want and more. Absinthe fairies, jazz, leather chairs in the smoking lounge, parkings lots that are close by, lovely staff, black and white films flickering on the wall. It's my kind of bar.
by Malcolm Paszek on I have only been to Velvet Room on Fridays when either a friend or I have had a booth. Booth service is excellent and I like the crowd. The ambiance is nice, and the booths are spacious enough and about as comfortable as expected. Parking is usually good and we normally don't have to walk to far (good old cold nights). However, I have noticed that the general admission lines are normally pretty long, so I highly recommend VIP. The only thing that is stopping a 5-star rating is the DJ. He/she was average at best.
by Anita B. on Sometimes they have some decent bands/music here and it can be fun with a group of friends who are interested, but all in all, I am not a huge fan. Food is average, drink prices seem to be average for the city though. It is completely unpretentious and there is definitely a mix of people here. I'll go if friends want to but it's a place I can take or leave. I don't love it, I don't hate it, it's just kind of there.
