It was my besties bday, and she was wearing a dress that wasn't conducive to slides...We didn't have a problem getting in, on a saturday night after 10pm, we had a good looking group of pretty girls & dudes...So, I most definitely slid down the slide, with that being said, the place was nice. Dj at first had played what was on the radio (i prefer more dance/house music that's not necessarily on the radio) and had been hearing for the past month and all but hey, that's what the majority of people at clubs such as these like...then a later female dj spun an awesome bassie/house music electro set, totally rocked the night. Danced all night, fun crowd, no drams, i'd love to go here again. :)

As far as Pure is concerned, I am so Team Andrew T. It's an after-hours gay nightclub, and like Andrew mentioned, they can't be open after-hours and serving past 2 unless the club is members only. Yeah, it's a little grimy and I've heard it described as a mold infested cocaine den. And while that might be true to an extent, it's the only after hours place I can go and not get ogled by creepy dudes. (For the record, I'm a chick and have absolutely no problems getting served there right away.) But, you know, despite it's grime, it's the only club I've gone to that actually has an upscale feel to it. They've got couches and tables all over the place, as well as a huge dance floor that allows you to either dance or chill when you're done at the regularly closing bars. And yeah, the drinks are pricy, but have you SEEN HOW MUCH VODKA GOES INTO A RED BULL & VODKA THERE? I'm a bit of a drinker and one Red Bull & Stoli Razz is really two drinks for me. My only real complaint with Pure is the straight hipster nights. I can get my straight hipster on with no problem, but those nights at Pure seem to draw the rudest frat boys I have ever encountered. I've gotten into arguments with jackasses because they didn't seem to understand that they were in a gay club, in the gay neighborhood (which some might refer to as the "Gayborhood," GO FIGURE) of the city, around predominantly gay people. Ugh. Oh, and my other complaint is the number of rude and demanding guests who pretty much order you to get them a drink. Not like that is Pure's fault at all, but come on now. I don't have to order you a drink, the least you could do is be polite...or even pick up a drink for me, too. It's honestly not my problem that you ditched the members who got your ass into the club, so all that I ask is that you nicely ASK me if I could get you a drink. They accept credit cards for cover (which is free/reduced for members), as well as initial membership fees/renewals (also, you need a member to vouch for you to become a member), however, their bars are cash only. Anyway, I happen to like the place and if you keep an open mind, you might enjoy it, too.
