I know this is beating a dead horse, but Suite 181 is ghetto. The last time we went, there was some drunk guy who took off his belt and was going around the club hitting girls with it all night. He should've been kicked out the first or maybe second time he did it... but no. He went around belt-whipping breezies until he tried with me and my girls. No thank you! We ended up whooping his drunk ass (6 girls and 1 guy) before he got kicked out. I had the in-the-movies-only opportunity to hit him over the head with a beer bottle. Needless to say, security here sucks. Also, they had a bathroom attendant in the ladies who kept yelling that she accepts tips. So tacky.

I am so pissed I had to leave early. I've been wanting to go for EVER. I'm even on the emailing list. I have hours and hours and hours of sixx mixxes and mashups on my Zune. This place was my mecca. I was exhausted even after taking a nap. My fecking thyroid got all unstable again, so I was feeling the effects...but while we were there, IT WAS GREAT. Amazing music. Especially by Smash Up Derby the live mashup band. The vibe was good. There were a few scenesters and Marina Mooks around, but they were behaved and not annoying at all! My husband is very shy and he's sensitive about being a bit older than other people we hang out with. He was so comfortable here, that for the first time we've ever gone out, HE was the one that wanted to stay. I wasn't drinking and I didn't need to. This place is the epitome of a good time...you don't need to add alchohol to make it interesting. I got a free cd of Lady Gaga mashups and got in for half price before 10. I really can't wait to get back.

Amazing bands, wildly colorful capoeira performances, and great energy from the crowd. You'll end up dancing the night away, whether or not you "can dance". SOB (aka Sounds of Brazil) definitely makes for a memorable night out. Careful with the special shows which, while awesome, can push the admission price to $20.
