Have gone to a ton of NYC clubs over the years and have never been turned away...my wife and I present well-- maybe too well. The doorman said on this Friday pm we needed to either have a reservation or do bottle service. Uhmm, thanks anyway. My wife's feelings were hurt a little bit; but it was short lived as we walked right in 1 Oak and had a great time! I hate being shaken down and wont fall for it, you shouldn't either.

Love this place! There's 2 floors and each floor has a bar...decoration was real japanese ish with paper lanterns and lots of japanese characters all over the seatings and stuff. Good music and drinks were good and strong...which is a plus - that way I don't have to pay too much to get buzzed.
