by Anna S. on This is one of my new favorite bars. It's a bit of a dump, and I love dumps that serve excellent sangria and remind me that it's summer. I ordered their "vegetable burger" and found it pretty delicious. I was especially taken with the large quantity of mayonaise available to pump into small cups. It was a great component of my burger and fry experience. My rateclubsing friend Jen O. got the garlic fries. I'd say they were pretty average french fries with garlic seasoning. For me, they hit the spot. Maybe it's the view, the open space, the riverfront location, or my love of dives. Whatever the reason, this is love.
by Leopoldo Antman on Ok, so im writing this review on the premise that I will give Frying pan one more try. Pro's: -The view is great, I love looking out onto the Hudson -They allow you to bring your dog -Its pretty laid back Cons: -The beer was a bit pricey -Food was meh -The staff continually failed to stop some ten year old from hitting some giant bell on the boat which was highly annoying and frustrating. I don't mind kids, but this one was a bit much. All in all I'd say I would go back for a second try should the opportunity arise. It is definitely a very unique spot and a great addition to those wonderfully rare anomalous restaurants you can find in the city.
