by William C. on What more could you want from nice venue, sick lanes, great food, and pretty excellent service? Oh, yeah. Non-corporate prices. If this place was cheaper, I'd spend a lot more time here. However, until it gets that way, I'll limit it to once in a while. Recommendation: They do private room rentals in this space in the back. Has like six lanes (or something like) and a private bar. I think it'd be pimp to rent that out for a party.
by Jen J. on OMG this place is crazy! I went on a Saturday night and its $20 to get in, or if you sign up on the online guestlist, its $15 before 11pm. I guess it was goth night for some occasion, so half the crowd was in leather, pleather, eyeliner and fishnets, on all the boys and girls! The other half was just normal club goers. There are about 5 rooms, to dance/veg out at. All playing trancy/housy/technoish music. One had death metal I think? The goth room had a guy on stage wearing a thong getting whipped by a girl! The other room was mainly dancing and pretty much like a mini rave. Everyone was on something, but seemed contained. The greatest thing about this place is the open outdoor patio area, it feels like you are in another country! Having a place to sit and chat in fresh air is perfect if you are dancing a lot. We met some really nice people that night and I think thats what made it so fun for us... it's a great place to just dance til 4am!
by Mariel Rodricks on I love the Sunday afternoon salsa party with the mixed gay/straight/don't-give-a-rat's-ass crowd. There's nothing sexier than two lithe Latin American boys slow-salsa-dancing under the big banana trees on the El Rio patio to some music from someplace a little like home. I like the VIP tiki shed in the back rear corner. The margaritas are a bit sloppy, but so is the flirting.
