by Dena K. on Most of my complaint has to do with the service and not the venue. It's an attractive restaurant, the theater area was fine (drink service slow), but the restaurant itself was a huge disappointment event hough the food tasted good. We ordered a number of tiny dishes and they arrived (1) at least 25 minutes apart (2) some dishes were missing (we ordered TWO seaweed salads and not one (3) the portions were tiny for the price (5) the waitress, who knew we were there to attend the show, still nearly made us late (we got keyed up not knowing when she would finish calculating the bill). We had a reservation for 6:30 and the show started at 8 pm and STILL it took forever to have dinner in the same location as the show. The arrangement should have made it easier and not more difficult to attend a show there.... To boot, the it made us feel as if even the $20 deposit-per-person restaurant credit to get reserved seats was a bad idea. We will never have dinner before a show there again. Loved the show, though.
by Martin Salomon on Went to Parish for the first time a few days ago and overall was very impressed with the food/atmosphere/service. I had the stuffed catfish which was amazing and my date had the Pork Shank which was perfectly cooked. We had the sweet potatoe banana nut cake for dessert. I am not normally a sweets kind of guy but this is to die for. The designers did a very good job with keeping some of the original decor of the house while at the same time converting it into a traditional New Orleans style restaurant. The downstairs market/bar/coffee area was a very good touch giving clients the ability to either eat dinner in the dining room and/or shop the market downstairs while having a beer or coffee.
