Went there on a Wednesday night so this place did not have the atmosphere that they should usually have on weekends. I mean, it was dead though there were more than 20 customers in the small place. There were only a few people dancing on and off. I just didn't pick a right day, I think.

Keepin' it real: if you're down with pretentious, Hollywood-club politics this is your place. Regarding the actual club itself: I've been here a couple times and the decor is plush and when they adjoin the clubs (Opera+Crimson) it's quite spacious. It's a lounge type venue, so the dance floors are tiny. Regarding the club's management: depending on the promoter this venue is a waste of time. This message isn't directed toward any particular promotion company, but instead, the actual club itself. I dealt directly with their management and they failed to deliver. This past Saturday, I was on their guest list, but waited in line for an hour and a half. All the while these BS promoters and doormen, let only a few people in from the "VIP" line. Mind you, my party was here from before opening and only saw about 100 people let in. We asked a promoter what were the chances of us getting in and they mumbled, "Bottle service, maybe. I don't know. I don't know" (exact quote) while walking away. For me, paying cover isn't a problem, but paying ridiculous amount of money for "bottle service" is just a lame idea (that's killing the club scene IMHO). I can get into saying that they were being "selective": my party was Filipino and they were only letting in people of a certain skin tone (not exaggerating), but the fact of the matter was they were USING us as free promotion. My party was the ENTIRE line outside. If they let us in, there would be no line outside to make their club look poppin'. This has happened to me on several occasions at other clubs, but other promoters have actually let us in after a reasonable amount of time. If we had no chance of getting inside, they could have practiced common courtesy and told us to just leave. Oh wait, this is Hollywood, courtesy doesn't exist. Opera+Crimson had no intention of letting us in and used us to promote their club. Needless to say, we left and took the line with us. As we drove away, we just saw a bunch of doormen outside with no hype, no line, nothing. I know it's all business and this is Hollywood, but if you're looking to have a hassle-free good time, you're better off going somewhere else. There's countless other places in LA with better service, better music, and a better crowd.

Why I haven't reviewed this place until now I may never know...But I've been here several times, fashion shows to concerts to birthday parties to everything in between...It's a spacious venue with that Old Hollywood appeal to it, right off Hollywood & Vine. The parking lots in front definitely price gauge, so you would be better off parking a couple blocks away or trying to find street parking. Sometimes the sound here is bad, though...
