The restaurant has a great decor and comfy booths, and there is also the wonderful outdoor seating area and homey bar with sofas and vintage western chairs. Classic Austin. Now, if you want to know about the pizza, here's the scoop: It's decent. O.K. full disclaimer: I grew up and have spent most of my life in NYC, so I've had a lot of good pizza in my day. The Red House pizza crust gets points for being thin, but does not have the crispness of a great brick oven pizza (and you can find pizza that does at both Home Slice and Salvation Pizza). The sauce and cheese and sausage are all good, but they are SKIMPY. It seems like the owners are trying to save money by not putting much on their pizzas. The large Greek salad is fantastic in every way imaginable, as are the drinks. My personal favorite is a good frozen sangria margarita, and the one at Red House does the trick. Not too sweet, and does not taste like a weird, chemically mix. Every time I have come, the waiters have been friendly, down to earth, and attentive. When I come in with my 'energetic' four-year-old son, my baby, and my gaggle of friends with their kids, the staff never seems put out, or like we have accidentally invaded the space of some hipsters secret hideaway. Happy hour is the best time to go if you need to bring the whole famn damily. It's cheap, and empty enough that your kids won't be a nuisance.
