According to the business card, this isn't your father's steak house. Cheesy but I guess it's not. Super upscale, contemporary beautiful ambiance, incredibly yummy and considered to be a restaurant/lounge with dim lighting. Located in the Meatpacking District - a definite plus is the fact that it is open late and aside from the overall ambiance of the restaurant, everything seemed to come together perfectly. Whether you're there on a date or with a bunch of friends. You won't be too disappointed. The food, though a bit pricey was scrumptious. When deciding between the skirt steak and the fillet Mignon - spend the extra ten dollars and go for Mignon. It's deliciouso. As for the sides, the sauteed mushrooms, creamy spinach & mashed potatoes are where it's at. Ever had a NOhito? No, well you should and this is the place to definitely get it. Nojito, was nothing short of orgasmic. Oh, and did I mention they had a DJ booth?...in a restaurant? Kind of weird but I guess it's cool. I'd go back hoping to have a celebrity siting one day...

This past saturday, my friend had her birthday at bob bar on the Lower East Side. Naturally, I went on rateclubs first in order to get an idea of place. It looked great! In fact, I had never seen so many stars in my life--besides those gold ones on the bulletin board in grade school. I walked in, well at least tried to, but it was so crowded that I merely stood still until I was able to envision a path. Once I saw an opening, I made my way to the "table" designated for the birthday girl. I put table in quotations because it was quite small and there was hardly anywhere to sit. I had previously that the drinks are cheap, but I got a shot in order to avoid inevitable spilling ($7 for chilled blueberry stoli). I liked the music (a mixture of top 40 and old school 90's and 80's) but it was simply too jammed for me to enjoy myself. After experiencing a bit of clausterphobia, I left.

This place is hit or miss... depending on what night you go on and who is promoting. I've been there when there were no more than 50 people (really sad), and times when there were hundreds. So it all depends. From what I gather, Asian parties are mostly thrown here. Whenever I go, I have fun. It's a mixture of intoxication and always running into old friends I have not seen for 10 years. There are two smoking rooms, upstairs and downstairs. Good for when I need a cig between drinks. Bad because you can't breath in there.... seriously. Three different areas for the bathroom... very nice. The best one is in the back upstairs, but sometimes if there is a private party, you can't get through to that area.
