by Cassy S. on Don't stop get it get it...get it get it. On a weekday night, after a drink or seven and I feel the urge to shake my booty to some hip hop and rnb, I go to bOb. This is a no frills kinda bar where the bouncer and bartenders are friendly, drinks are reasonable, layout and design are simple with changing artwork from local artists. The crowd here is pretty diverse. And everyone is just out to dance, mingle and have a good time. Ladies, be forewarned there are a lot of guys here. If you don't feel like dancing with them, just huddle in a group or use my excuse to save a friend.."sorry dude, that's my girl." PFFFFFTTT!!! There is a $5 cover after 11PM (?)
by Leslie K. on The first time I was here was to see Minus the Bear, Annuals, and Helms Alee. It was a great venue to see them since it gave off such an intimate vibe and the place wasn't that bad to look at either. The bands brought in a casual and younger crowd so of course there would be people just sitting down in front of the stage, saving their spots to see their favorite band. Little do they know that crowds tend to move and you're never guaranteed that spot at the end unless you hold on to the stage for dear life. The place was packed, but not so much that you couldn't move around. If you wanted to sit down by the bar, you would still have a clear view of the stage and you could order your drinks from there. The bathrooms are also noteworthy, at least the women's bathroom is. It's so nice and clean and who knew there would be a bathroom attendant there for your many girly bathroom needs? She handed me a paper towel to wipe my hands and everything. And if you want to reapply some make-up because you didn't anticipate that you were going to sweat that much standing in the middle and want to look good before you head out to see your date, there are a bunch of vanity mirrors with comfy chairs to sit on. Pretty cool. Also, the acoustics and the lighting made it a very enjoyable experience seeing one of my favorite bands. Not so sure about the parking but it's very easy to get by bus since the stop is right across the street from the place. I would definitely go back here again if one of my favorite musical acts were to play here.
