by Tiffany L. on I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars for this one. I went here for the Pretty Lights show in April. We stayed at Hotel Milano which was perfect it was right across the street with a short walk through that courtyard thing to the alley entrance. The entrance is kind of weird. We didn't have to wait in some awful long line to get in (besides the really annoying high pitch voiced girls in front of us). Once inside, its got more a bougie nightclub steeze than I'm used to but with a San Fran flare to it. The bartender was rude but they usually are. There is an upstairs that has terrible visibility so it's cool to sit down and rest with more of a lounge type use than actually watching the show. They have VIP areas where you can sit behind some red ropes and pay 6 times the amount for a bottle of Goose and feel like you're cool or something. The dance floor is O.K. There is this pole in the middle that really bothers me though. The crowd at this particular show was rave-bro/beezy blend but that is mostly because of the crowd that PL is pulling these days. There wasn't a whole lot of room to dance once it's crowded which is what always bothers me the most about venues like this. I would go back again if it's an act I want to see.
