Cool space to occupy but not to exciting. Have you ever had a moment when you and your friends are deciding what to eat for lunch? Pizza? noodles? sushi place? And you say whatever lets just get something to fill your stomach. The place has 3 bars, 1 upstairs and 2 below and smoking section by the back exit. Would I go back? yeah why not I can go for "whatever". Drinks are $8 for beers and 14 for mixed drinks. Music is just meh-ok on Friday nights.

We dropped by the Sugar Cafe after dinner for coffee, wine, and hot chocolate, thinking it would be nice place for after-dinner conversation. Unfortunately, as soon as we sat down, they turned up the music to dance-club volume. But, there was no dancing, and no place for dancing. I guess they just want people to sit there drinking, not talking, and getting their ear drums blasted. My hot chocolate tasted as if it had been made in a pot that had held old coffee. It was also an obscene serving size. Sugar Cafe hasn't figured out that making it bigger doesn't compensate for low quality (double-entendre intended). As if the music weren't already bad enough, the loud music videos switched to S&M, starting with a woman singing while being tied down with chains by a yucky old man. I didn't really need to finish my hot chocolate anyway.

I met a friend for drinks here a couple weeks ago. It was the fanciest sports bar I've seen. I liked the atmosphere and got good service. Still I can't think of anything that stood out for me as particularly special.
