I thought it was going to be like the old Doc's Pad. It was a mellow place to hang out. It was so crazy I did not bother to go in. They should have stayed shut down.

Not bad for a four star chinese restaurant...Decor is hip, drinks are good...a bit noisy, but again, it's NYC!!! But a good place to go with friends!

It's OK to be confused... yes, this restaurant on Manor Road, a block east if I-35 and immeditely east of El Chile was called Stortini's until recently, and the Red House was the bar / lounge / patio in the house behind it, which also served pizzas. Stortini's was a nice mid-price Italian place that had started well last year, replacing the always sketchy El Gringo, but the rapidly sinking economy proved too tough a challenge for a new restaurant to quickly get on its feet. So the owners decided to shut down Stortini's and expand the Red House by taking over the restaurant building in front and turning the whole place into Red House Pizzeria. If you like Pizza Hut, this is not your place, not at all. Rather than formulaic snack food "pizzas" with plastic cheese, Red House does real food pizzas with quality ingredients, like their classic margherita with authentic crisp thin crust, tomato slices, garlic, fresh mozzarella, and fresh basil cut in chiffonade strips and liberally sprinkled, like festive green mardi Gras confetti. I also like the sausage and peppers pizza, with homemade sausage and roasted sweet red pepper strips on fresh, fresh mozzarella. At lunch time you can get two slices, any choice, from the 17 " pies on display, plus a fresh green salad with a choice of their house-made dressing. (Hint - try the pesto ranch) for only $5.49 A perfect accompaniment, if you like a little vino with your pizza, would be the Prosecco sparkling wine, or the house sangria. They also have a good selection of draft beers by the pint or pitcher, including Lonestar, Dos XX, Firemans 4, Bass Ale and Stella Artois, plus an awesome assortment of huge, tasty margaritas. But if you are looking for a lounge or bar or patio scene, the Red House in back is still the happening place. Up front is for those who want to eat pizza in a restaurant, not a bar. Up front, on Saturday night, the place closes at 10pm, while out back you can still get pizzas and calzones until 11:30. And the patios are the happening place to hang out, even in coolish weather, when they roll out big radiant heaters to keep you happy.
