by Greg G. on Geno's Steaks are A-OK! Having missed Geno's the first time I vacationed in Philly, I knew i had to make it there this time around. As a tourist- I wanted to try Geno's. As a rateclubser- I realized there were probably better options in town. I had to try for myself. Of all the cheesesteaks I tried in Philly, Geno's packed the least punch. It seemed light on the steak, light on the cheese, and heavy on the bread. HOWEVER, it was still a tasty ass cheesesteak and deserves at least 3 Stars!! You Philly rateclubsers have it so lucky if you consider Geno's to be on the lower end of the 'cheesesteak totem pole'- because I'd love to have a place like Geno's where I'm from! Overall A-OK, light on the steak, light on the cheese, tourist destination #1.
by Carlota Perrell on Don't believe the hype, this place is just another "15 minutes of fame" Hollywood hot spot. After waiting in line and playing the "I know so-and-so game", my group of friends got in, upon entry you walk several flights of stairs to the 'main' area which is separated into two 'rooms'. Upon ordering my first drink I was absolutely appalled at the fact the bartenders MEASURE the pours, EXACTLY an ounce each. If I am paying $10 for a "well and soda" I would expect to at least get a little more generous pour. The music was alright, just your typical whats hot right now (or last month) play list. This club is mostly just an over priced trendy sweat box. I've had a WAY better time at Crown Bar for the same amount of money. Don't waste your time or money, lack-luster at best. There are other great places in Hollywood that offer so much more for a night out.
