Delicious, classic, and authentic Italian food. Is there anything better? Boyfriend raved about D'angelo's for a while before I finally caved and agreed to go one night. And from the moment we walked in (hello, amazing wall of celebrity photos ascending the stairwell!) and were greeted by the super friendly, super old-school Italian hostess, I regretted not going sooner. Our waitress was sincere and attentive, the menu was explained thoroughly and thoughtfully, wine pairings were suggested based on our food selections. And the food! The food was delicious and the portions were enormous. Maybe a little pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for, in both quality and quantity. I had the gnocchi (of which I took home leftovers) and boyfriend had two huge flounder filets, served with a heaping plate of pasta. This is Italian as it should be, not Olive Garden style Italian. I can't speak to the dance club D'angelo's boasts, unfortunately. It takes a very special combination of alcohol and circumstance to get me to boogie on down, and despite the tempting unzz-unzz of the bass from the dance club above the dining room, the conditions were just not met that night (most notably, boyfriend and I were still in the "you're so cute, you can do no wrong" stage, and I was not ready to shock him into reality by shaking what my mama did not give me). If you're looking for really, really good Italian food, this is the place to go.

Yes, I am a sucker for retro booths, fancy lights, unique (and clean) bathrooms, and any bar that has Creme de violette. SCORE. I didn't eat here but even if they fed me trash i'd probably still give it a high rating. Bathroom side note: The mirrors in the bathroom are two-ways and it was hysterical. Love love it.

Let's see here, I've been here about three times, the first time was during their Industry Party with free booze, second time with DJ Chuck Love, and third with DJ Frenchy le freak. The venue itself is set up nicely, but when the dance floor gets extremely crowded, people resort to dancing on the tables leaving people sitting in the VIP area no place to breath. Bathrooms are kinda weird here, one bathroom, multiple stalls. Smoking area? What? No way, it's terrible, overly crowded and stinky. They need an outdoor patio-like Rosewood Lounge in Chinatown. Bar and bartenders were nice but the prices were ridiculously overpriced. Two drinks = $20. I'm not cheap, I know how much it is, cost wise. But I'm not complaining, I did get in for free. But then again, I don't pay like paying covers. I wouldn't mind coming here if the crowd were older, I felt the little younguns dancing on the tables spoiled my evening. =)
