Yoshi is a gorgeous place. I love the open kitchen, lighting, and decor. It recieves high marks for asthetics for the restaurant layout and food plating. The dishes themselves however, are less easy to rave about. The lamb chops are not remarkable. Its not difficult to make an already great cut of meat taste decent. The cod was good; it was lightly grilled and cooked well. It was the most enjoyable bite of the night. I was least fond of the braised short ribs. Boring is the most direct way to put it. I question why a delicate ingredient like miso was used for braising a robust meat such as beef shortribs. The miso brought nothing to the table. It did well to fall in alignment of Japanese cusine's subtley and refinement, but that didnt necessary translate into amazing food. Comestable, but far from mind blowing.

Forget about everything else, this place has hands-down the best oldschool/reggae/top20 dance mix I have ever heard. The DJ runs the show. Get here early, sit back (or dance), and enjoy the music. I resigned as a DJ out of respect for this bar.
