This place is alright. But I don't like it when they advertise free drinks and when you get there, the bartenders are like...What free drinks? ARG There are three different rooms with differ types of music. (usually top 40 in main; Latin in one; and house in the other) There's also a cigar bar. I do like their live music in the main room when they're playing, and another plus is their bathroom-one nice long hallway with about 10 stalls(ladies of course). Nice lighting, and decor. I only visit when I have no cover...c'mon who pays for cover these days?

For the price and location, it is worth checking out. The burger meat was adequate and the toppings delightful. The milkshakes are out of this world! However, the service is poor and they messed up our orders. I went with ten friends -- most of whom think the food is just "ok."

I came here looking for Con Sabor (which apparently used to be at this location), with visions of pupusas dancing through my head. So I was a little disappointed to find out it was something else, but I decided to try the place anyway. It's still Salvadoran, but looking through the menu I was further disappointed that they had a limited selection of pupusas. Actually, the menu was kind of confusing so I asked some questions of our server but it turned out her English was not too good so it took a little effort to decide on what we wanted. She was really nice though. So, the stage was set was a disappointing experience, but the food really delivered! We had the pan de gallina, chicken tamales, empanadas, and a pupusa. The pan de gallina was definitely the highlight- a huge mess of a sandwich with chicken, beets, radish, watercress. Had to eat it with a knife and fork. The chicken tamales were really savory- so much so that I would've liked them just as much without the chicken, the masa was so tasty. The "empanadas" were not what I expected at all - they were actually fried pillows of plantains with a little cream inside of them. They served these with sugar on the side to sprinkle. They do *not* have chicken in them, as the menu stated. And the pupusa- it was tasty too. All of the above were off the "appetizers" section of the menu and made for a satisfying (and cheap) meal. There were a lot of other options too, including entrees so there's more I'd like to explore. And to be thinking of what to order next time, when the evening started on such an inauspicious tone, makes El Baron a suprising win. A couple of notes: around 9:00PM, the "night club" aspect kicked in and the DJs in the dance floor area cranked up the volume by several levels. It was actually kinda painfully loud and we were eager to beat a hasty retreat then. So, go earlier if you'd like to converse during your meal. Also: the chicken in the tamale and the sandwich had bones in it, so be mindful before you take a huge chomp of them. Finally: it's cash-only, but there's an ATM on site.
