I don't think there's anything I could say in my review that hasn't already been posted in the hundreds of other reviews here. I took my BF here for dinner for his birthday, and it's one of the best meals I've ever had in my life. We did the omakase, and the whole meal was nothing short of joyous. Delicious, inventive, beautiful. We felt like we were on an Iron Chef episode, not knowing what was going to come out next. A nice extra touch was that, since my boyfriend had done the omakase before (many many years ago), they brought each of us different dishes for every single course. So basically we got to try 14 dishes because we tasted each otehr's every time. So much fun! And yes, everyone is correct, be prepared to spend a nice chunk on your dinner. With the omakase and 2 drinks each, our tab with tip came to just under $400. But seriously, it was worth every penny. I just wish I could afford to go there more often!

Ruby Skye. I thought I'd take a swing at this one Ruby Skye is right down the street right past Jack n' the Box. I see a lot more of Jack'n the Box than Ruby Skye. But when I do it has always been a little more than I figured or feared. For one, there is always food. Ruby Skye seems big on this for early events, or any event's really, if you show up early enough. The people get lost on the sidelines a little bit when you look around to find people. Something about there being two bars on either sides of the dance floor both half's your chance of actually getting to a drink and doubles your chance at being confused as which one is moves quicker. The old preserved theater look of Ruby is pretty impressive, able to convert even the most yesteryear of theater-goers and the most conservative older patron to be comfortable even if WonderBread 5 is busy jamming through every pop-cover song from Justin Timberlake to Timberland on stage and cheap beer and a lone, thinly rolled joint is being passed between the band in the overhead v.i.p. room overlooking the stage that keeps you and everybody else in the club wondering how they might be able to get up there and see what's going on. It's a small room and mainly a quick entrance down the back fire-escape. Not much to see The upstairs is revamped with one of these high-design dj booths http://www.styletraxx....worth a look. The usual monthly rotating party promoters are throwing their deal up here, occasionally. Ruby just needs to take "explore your rhythm" off their sign and they stand a better chance of out-living the other mammoth Nightclubs that have come and gone in SF
