I was scared of this spot as a child. After all, on a school trip nearly all the kids wound up with food poisoning. I managed to avoid it by getting strep throat the day of the field trip. Needless to say, I was happier with my mom's home cooking that day versus the salmonella burger. Years later, I decided to face my fears and went back - though not entirely by choice, to be fair. The food was mediocre to say the least. Flat burger, flimsy fries... the only good part was that beautiful orange cream shake they offer. It's an Atlanta institution, so most people say you should go. If you want to, give it a shot. It probably won't kill you, but you might leave the city with a few extra passengers in your stomach. If nothing else, you can say you tried one of the Southern food groups - grease!

Any place that serves sweet potato french fries rates high in my book. Couple the fries with the savory dipping sauce and a cute presentation --the fries came out in a little metal shopping cart (everyone say "awe") --and I'll give the place a five. So, why the three? Well, the place is just too small for its britches. The space is cramped. For the price I'm paying for the burger, I don't want to feel my elbows rubbing against a stranger sitting next to me. Speaking of the burger. My husband ordered the Delux burger and proclaimed it one the best burgers he's had! I ordered a Chinese Chicken Salad and was surprised that the chicken looked and tasted like it was processed (not freshly grilled). It was a savory salad -- I just want fresh chicken on my salad - especially when I'm paying $12 bucks for a salad. Another downside is that Delux is located in a strip mall. I think I would find the place more endearing if it were located, say, on Central Avenue as a standalone restaurant. Also, one other thing to note: The place seems to be frequented by a younger crowd (high school and college age kids driving up in their BMWs and Land Rovers). I'm not making judgements. I'm just sayinggggg.....

I called Club Waziema, an Ethiopian restaurant in SF to ask if they add wheat flour to their injera. They said that they did. So I asked them if they served rice, and they said no. I then told them I had a medical condition that prevented me from eating wheat, and asked if it was ok to bring my own rice. They said that they don't allow any outside food. I tried to explain that it was discriminatory, but she didn't seem to understand. After putting me on hold for a while, they asked me to call back later and hung up on me. I believe that ADA would apply. Reasonable accomodation for a disability. So I could probably make a good case, but I don't think I want to patronize them any more, and don't feel like going through all the trouble.
