by Robert S. on I live two blocks down from Shine, and ended up stopping in to see a friend dj. Spot is decent, although a little small. By time we left, there was only about 3 other people there but it was a Tuesday night but that's never stopped anyone in the city. Anyway, drinks were good but a little more than I would have liked to pay. The bartender seemed to have a slight arrogant attitude.
by sheri n. on popped in for the happy hour special. we ordered the $1 oysters and mussels for a nice shellfish light dinner. the carrot ginger vinaigrette was delicious, and a great refreshing compliment to the oysters. the place is decked out in dark wood, with cool toned curtains draping from ceiling to floor. i was surprised to see the place quiet considering the deals during happy hour, but it made it all the better as we were served promptly.
by Yessenia Pamplin on The name says it all, the Rite Spot is a near perfect neighborhood bar, and I regret not going there more when I lived a block away (as the song goes, "Don't know what you've got till it's gone"). It's a great spot to meet up for casual drinks, and on most nights they have some sort of music (acoustic, piano, jazz, etc.). They also serve food, pretty good at that.
