by Delfina Oleksy on I was looking forward to an evening with my two sisters, one visiting from San Francisco who is a fan of Michael Mina and is quite the foodie. We started off on the patio and I had a Blueberry cocktail that was truly one of my favorite drinks in a long time. We decided to go into the dining room to be seated... Let me just say, that I honestly would have given them 5 stars except that the Hostesses were so rude and cold, thank goodness the Manager stepped in and gave us a lovely table with a long sofa so that the 3 of us could sit comfortably. Perhaps that my sister was staying at SLS helped... We were greeted by the waiter in a pleasant manner, but once we asked for the Dine LA menu his attitude changed completely! If you don't want to serve this menu then why offer it??? He too was snooty and very unfriendly. I do have to say though, the 3 courses were excellent. They offer 3 appetizer, main courses and dessert and we had one of each. I loved the Beet salad and Sweet corn soup with pork belly. The asparagus risotto and Halibut were excellent. For dessert the chocolate cake with coconut, basil sauce and peanut crisp was decadent and truly delectable. I wouldn't recommend the Root Beer Float, except that it came with 2 chocolate cookies fresh from the oven. If you can expect that you are going to a typical trendy LA restaurant that is pretentious you won't be upset by the rudeness of the staff...and enjoy a good meal. Valet Parking is $10, park in the back if you don't want to pay that much money.
by helenhana c. on i just recently de-elited myself (by changing my name) and told myself that i will go easy on my reviews. but after my horrible night at the hm, i needed a place to vent and this is where i am doing it. dear my rateclubsettes and rateclubsers, i met a quite few of you and hung out and shared some great times with you. i really am writing this for your sake. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY HERE!!!! my friends and i usually go to the hm for bachelorette parties, and always waste waaay too much money. but for good time and great memories, i am willing to spend. However, i do NOT waste my money on crappy service. 1hr to get our drinks and 1.5 hr to get our food?! and the drink orders were wrong. the waiter was clueless and the manager was really MEAN and unhelpful. the manager was extremely unpleasant that i had complaints. i am going to be a honest reviewer. the drinks are not too bad and their limited finger food items are appetizing (especially the sweet potato fries). the performance is entertaining and definitely crowd pleasing. $20 for regular and $25 for VIP/ per person entrance fee is affordable and reasonable. but i refuse to pay to be treated like crap. i didn't do anything to deserve the dirty looks for the manager and the other waiters. if i can sue this place for ill treatment of their customers, i would do so.
by Natalia Malhi on I had been at The Box many times and its a very exciting place, any time I go back I find something new and exciting. The shows are very cool and unexpected, every time you go there you will see a totally different show than the last one. The performers are very professional as well as the moves on stage. The people who go there all look like models, you will feel as if you were in another planet, in a good way. The place is expensive but if you have good contacts you can drink for free all night long! Befriend the bartenders and bus boys ;) The settings are amazing, the old-fashion style in the theater gives the place a pretty cool vibe. Totally recommended, but please make sure you will get in otherwise if you wait in line you will spend your whole night outside.
