Had been here once before and all I remember was overpriced watered down drinks, and some dingy slide that seems to be their namesake. To their credit, I remember the music being o.k. Tried to go there again with a group of friends (equal amount of guys and girls) and after standing in line for about 15 minutes they wouldn't let us in because, get this, we were a group. I tried to ask the bouncer how that made any sense. His answer..."I already explained it to you, write about it on Rateclub if you want." Here you go big boy. Went down the street to The Cellar instead. Sure it's not as swanky, but the music was better, the drinks were stiffer, and the bouncers are not delusional morons who pretend their overrated lounge is exclusive.

This is the original restaurant that inspired Mixto down in center city. Even if it is out in North/Northeast Philly, it is worth the trip! So much better and more affordable than Mixto with food that is fresh and authentic (enforced by the many Colombians who visit the restaurant). Go for lunch when the service is quicker and the crowds are smaller (and it is light outside... bc the neighborhood is not the best). The Bandeja Tipica comes with a chicharones (deep fried fatty short ribs - 4 pieces) with an arepa (corn cake with cheese) and a huge platter with a steak topped with 2 eggs, rice, beans, plantains, and avocado. Top it off with the home-made salsa and you have a meal for two that costs $11.
