I finally got a chance to check this place out and kinda liked it. Arranged on two levels, with three bars serving somewhat overpriced drinks (and only two beers on tap: Guinness and Stella). Not a huge deal, and kind of expected. With bottle service, it appears you can get a seating area to yourself with great sight lines to the stage. Contrary to the experience noted by other reviewers, I didn't get any attitude from the bar staff. They were moving efficiently and I don't think you should expect anything more on a busy night. The stage was pretty nice, with good lighting and a sound system that more than capably handled some truly penetrating bass from the DJ sets served up that evening. Good times! What I didn't expect to encounter in a San Francisco club was a crowd reminiscent of our LA experience: more concerned about their over-styled appearance than making sure their dry cleaning was handled on a regular basis. As a result, if I had been led into the room blindfolded prior to the show, I would have sworn I was in a 24-hour Fitness. Serious locker-room smell--not the fault of the club, but the crowd in attendance. Bizarre. Overall, I liked Mezzanine and will return for another show in a couple of months. But in the interim, I'm hoping hella Groupons are offered for dry cleaning service.

Wow -- did I just have fun after paying a $12 cover? When's the last time that happened? I went here for 80's night last night. Arrived around 11PM to no lines and a very cheerful bouncer. The crowd was a ton of fun -- lots of folks (a touch older than most clubs) looking to dance. No packs of dudes, no dress code, no drunk girls falling on the floors. Great times. Also, they played Blade Runner on the screen over the very-reasonably loud music. Nice touch.
