Only been here during happy hour. Gotta love the 2-for-1 special also that the well vodka was Kettle One. Usually I'm like, "What vodka is that? Never heard of it. That's why I'm paying $ for this drink!" I'd describe the decor as futuristic bold. There's lots of seating and a mechanical horse upstairs. Don't get too excited it isn't one of those bulls, it's one of those horses that ride back and forth that sit outside the grocery store. Yee-haw!

Someone from Chicago just posted an inquiry about finding a good Philly hip hop club before she plans to visit. In my estimation, there's only one to recommend: Fluid Nightclub. Great service at the bar. Intimate space, yet great for people-watching. A laundry list of local and accomplished DJs spinning the best of old and new-school hip hop, especially DJ Mike Nyce, whose Saturday-night old school party is the best night out in the city! One of my best Fluid memories is of sitting in the mezzanine (there are several catbird perches at the club for easier people watching) overlooking the dance floor, when Amir "?uestlove" Thompson of The Roots made his way from the front door (sans entourage) to the DJ booth for a night sharing the spotlight with DJ Mike Nyce! All I saw at first was afro and, of course, the pick in his hair! Fluid's New Year's Eve party was also a night to remember! The only issues are with parking (its near South Street so driving around for a few minutes looking for a space is obligatory) and the unisex rest rooms that I have yet to get used to.

The old Luna Lounge space has been completely transformed. Charles Doell has once again created an incredible space.... most recentely known for his desogn of Blu Pointe, Charles' new design has rendered this old nightclub almost unrecognizeable. Stil have yet to go on a regular night... not on a VIP night... to truly experience the "scene" but Icon is a great new addition to the sophisticated nightlife/restaurant scene that has been currently been taking over SOMA.... update..... They are working in conjunction to transform that corner into 80's 90's night on Thursdays... *yay**** finally another alternative to Donovan Thursdays ;)
