by Ed R. on I have to preface this review: I am a white guy. The Bad: Non-stop hip-hop music, better than 75% Koren clientèle (the 2 nights I was there) who don't talk to white folk... Unimpressive VIP areas, If you want to self park it's expensive ($10-20) and a long walk. Expensive! The Good: Kick ass sound system, great atmosphere, bar tenders that practically jump over the bar to serve you, a comfortable outside area to cool down.
by Abby Iverslie on As far as aesthetics go, this place will melt your mind. I was in PA for work a while back. I asked the hotel clerk "where can I score a decent plate of sashimi while having my face humped by anime robots?" Unfortunately, they couldn't locate such an environment, but were glad to suggest this gem of sushi restaurant. I was with a party of ten coworkers and were fortunate enough to also get the POD. The POD is one of two bright white, round rooms that anchor the place in the back of the restaurant. Its kinda like that one Kubrick film....God, i can't think of it. You know that one, with the little space ships and talking computers. I remember its set in the future. I'm really bad at pop culture. Anyways..... You sit a little higher up than the dining room floor, so you can look out, point and laugh at the rest of losers in the restaurant who didn't get to enjoy this experience. There are a series of 9 big buttons on the wall, arranged like the blocks on "Hollywood Squares". You may, at anytime, push these buttons and the ENTIRE room will change that color. It is not subtle, by any means. It is BRIGHT pink, purple, red etc. Be warned, eating Maki that looks florescent green doesn't help it go down any easier. I felt like projectile vomiting out the port holes, on to the other patrons of this fine establishment. That would have been embarrassing. Let's get serious for a second, sorry reader. Jeez. Where are my manners? Talking about vomit on a review for a sushi restaurant is not cooth. (Were you just wondering what "cooth" meant? No? I'll tell you anyways. It is a Scottish colloquialism, meaning to be polite or well mannered. I just googled that shit.) Let's get to the heart of the review. Not 5 stars because I have had better sushi, but it was not bad by any standard. It was actually quite good. But the brilliant design by the Rockwell Group made this an amazing experience that you will have to see for yourself.
