by Brian P. on I came to Philly to fish out the rivalry between Geno's Steaks and Pat's. What's great about the winter is that there are no lines! So that was a plus. My friend and I tried Geno's first and fell in love. The meat was very tender and juicy and it was a good amount to eat. I've heard of people telling me there are other places that have better cheesesteaks but we just wanted to experience the more well known.
by Traci S. on Maybe it's because I got there at 1:00 and I'd missed all of the action. Maybe it's the snobby LA broad creeping up inside of me that has a hard time adjusting to the SF club scene. Maybe it's because I'm very critical, but I was relatively unimpressed. The drinks were cool, but the wait staff rushing me out after allowing me to buy a drink at last call and forcing me to guzzle a vodka tonic and sending me out onto the street was totally not cool. (isnt' that a liability or something?) But I was there just in time to see several entertaining drunk girls all over each other with a few guys on the sidelines drinking water and waiting to pounce. The music was decent and the bar was fairly well stocked, the parking was good (but again I got there at 1 AM) and other bars were within walking distance. Photo Booth? What photo booth? I guess I didn't even bother walking that far back into the club.
